Frequently Asked Questions About Our Yacht Charter Destinations
How do I choose a destination for a yacht charter?
Start with where you are travelling and the kind of day you want. Mexico’s Pacific coast and the Sea of Cortez offer dramatic coastlines, fishing and seasonal whale watching. The Mexican Caribbean, the Bahamas and the Caribbean islands are known for turquoise water, reefs and beaches, while Miami and Seattle combine city skylines with time on the water. Each destination page describes what is available there.
Which destinations have their own pages?
We have pages for Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta, La Paz, Acapulco, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Aruba, Puerto Rico, St Barths and St Martin, Miami and Seattle.
Can you arrange a charter somewhere that is not listed?
Possibly. Our contact form lists more locations, such as Antigua, Turks and Caicos and the British Virgin Islands, and you can choose Other Location for anywhere else. Send your request and we will tell you honestly whether we can arrange a suitable yacht there.
What is the difference between charters on Mexico's Pacific and Caribbean coasts?
On the Pacific side, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco offer rugged coastlines and deep water, and La Paz opens onto the islands of the Sea of Cortez. Fishing and winter whale watching are highlights in these places. On the Caribbean side, Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum offer turquoise water, reefs for snorkeling and nearby islands such as Isla Mujeres and Cozumel.
Which destinations suit island hopping?
The Bahamas, St Barths with St Martin and Anguilla, and Puerto Rico with the Spanish Virgin Islands are well suited to island hopping, especially on multi-day charters. Crossings between islands depend on the weather and the yacht, and some routes involve entry formalities, so ask us what is practical for your dates.
Do all destinations offer the same yachts and prices?
No. Each destination has its own fleet, and prices vary with the yacht, the length of the charter, your number of guests, the date and what is included. Some destination pages show example yachts with photos, and we can send a current list for any destination on request.
When is the best time of year to charter?
It depends on the destination. The Atlantic hurricane season, from June 1 to November 30, affects the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Miami. Humpback whales visit Mexico’s Pacific coast mainly in winter, and Seattle’s main charter season runs from about April to October. Ask us about conditions for your dates.
Can I book charters in more than one destination?
Yes. If your trip includes several stops, send one inquiry listing each destination and date, and we will look for suitable yachts in each place. Each charter is quoted and confirmed separately.
Should I book a day charter or a multi-day charter?
A day charter, from a few hours to a full day, suits sightseeing, swimming, fishing or a sunset cruise. A multi-day charter on a suitable yacht lets you explore farther, such as the islands around La Paz, Puerto Rico or the Bahamas. Tell us how much time you have and we will suggest the best fit.
Are the itineraries described on destination pages guaranteed?
No. Destination pages describe what is possible, but the actual route depends on the yacht, the length of your charter, weather and sea conditions, and local regulations. The captain makes the final decision on the day. Agree your main priorities with us before you book.
How do I see which yachts are available in a destination?
Open the destination’s page to see example yachts and photos where they are shown, then contact us with your date and group size. Availability changes, so we will confirm which yachts are free for your date.
How do I request a quote for any destination?
Use our contact form, choose your destination from the list and add your date and group size, or call +1 (305) 515-4735. Our team will reply with suitable yachts and pricing.
